Our history

Since 1960

Our history

The Estate is developing a national popular recreational site, recognized for its quality and variety. Over time, we have succeeded in developing a remarkable bond and loyalty with our customers and our employees. It is the presence of high quality water from Mont-St-Hilaire and the beauty of the place that inspired the founder and architect Maurice Robillard and his wife Gertrude Fontaine. The Robillard family innovated by offering the first campground in Quebec and by building one of the first public golf courses. Today, we serve over 200,000 visitors annually.

Year 1960

Beginning of camping and the first Christmas for Campers, a national tradition that celebrates Christmas in the middle of summer.

1967

During the Universal Exhibition, the campsite has 1,000 sites. During the 1976 Summer Olympics, the campsite saw its capacity increased to 1,500 sites. Today, it has 1950 sites and annually welcomes more than 1700 families for the summer, as well as 250 sites are used by travelers.

1970

The Service Loisirs Rouville (SLR), a voluntary organization responsible for managing activities, is taking shape.

1988

Opening of the Aquaparc, swimming pool and water slide.

2010

It is our innovative character combined with our know-how, the support of our employees and our customers that has enabled us to pass the milestone of 50 years. To highlight this achievement, the Domaine International de Rouville received 2 Roosters, symbol of the Grand Prix du Tourisme de la Montérégie, recognizing the importance of the business and earning the award in the outdoor activity and leisure category to highlight the 50th anniversary celebrations.

2014

Something new in the aquatic areas, we are setting up a WIBIT playground on the lake at the aquapark. These are game modules that form a huge Lego to entertain young and old, all in safety. In addition, we have twice received the Grands Prix du tourisme de la Montérégie Desjardins prize for the category camping and outdoor sites, sports and leisure and also, the jury's favorite! Congratulations to our entire team!
