Do you miss the beautiful warm season? Do you sigh when you think back to your last summer? Are you one of those people who love to hate winter? Summer will return, but the Domaine International de Rouville wants to make you want to love winter and today we are offering you fun activities to do to enjoy winter and snow.
These activities are simple and suitable for all fitness levels. To take full advantage, dress in “onion skins” to remove or add layers depending on the temperature.
1- Trail walking
No need to be in summer to walk and admire the beauties of Quebec's landscapes! Immerse yourself in nature and discover breathtaking landscapes. Several local trails and numerous SÉPAQ parks await you for your next outing! Believe us: the snow covering the trees makes the scenery even more magical!
2- The racket
Time takes on another dimension when you put on snowshoes to explore the snowy forest. We can then move easily, without sinking into the snow.
3- The slide
The perfect activity for little ones… and older ones! Perfect for rediscovering your child's heart: it requires little physical effort and provides a great dose of happiness. Whether on your butt, on a crazy carpet or on a tube... tie your hat on!
4- The skate
As soon as the temperatures permit, numerous ice rinks are set up throughout the region! It's the ideal activity for getting some fresh air and movement without having to travel long distances or carry lunches, drinks and snacks. We play outside, enjoy the ice cream and then enjoy a nice hot chocolate!
5- Observe wildlife
Winter is the best season for wildlife viewing. We can more easily spot clues left by animals and find them. Remember to keep your distance because safety and respect for animals come first.
6- Cross-country skiing
Cross-country skiing may be the solution for you if you don't dare to do regular skiing. As the body is always moving, it does not have time to cool down. Many trails are available in the area for beginners.
